I rarely watch the news on account that I dissaprove in bringing my day down just so that I'm up to date on who was killed today. But the other day I just so happened to awaken from a nap to see the local news complaining about the amount of people getting evicted from their homes because of either A.) lack of money, B.)Lack of a greencard (what a concept). And I noticed something that was in fact rather odd, and I ask you, faithful new readers, what do you think? How come the houses that contain soon to be evictees are ALWAYS spotless? You never see the news cameras walk into the house to find a horrible mess do you? Dogs running amuck, children wearing paper-bags, pages of unpaid bills molding to the floor, held down by toys? No, you see a spotless white house with crosses adorning every door way, the good china set neatly on the table, vaccumed carpets, and children with their polos tucked into trousers playing with an equally clean poodle who's name is probably Fido.
But why are the people getting eveicted? They seem so nice! The answer is iminent when they open their mouths to complain and show off their tounge. Here's a sentence or two that shows the clear lack of education in this unnamed interview (please read phonetically), "I jus don understan! Why-ee are dey keeking me owt of my howth? I dinnt do nutin rong! Da state ees jus not gettin where I cum from, ya know?" Maybe if you spent 3 hours a week reading something other than the TV guide while looking for a new episode of "Yo Mamma." Maybe there's a reason that the rest of the world looks down on us. If the news showed some educated persons doing a rally downtown in the name of immigrant rights, and perhaps not somebody whos best english is "this isn't fair" we'd get just a smidge more respect.
I'm not down-sizing the people, I'm down-sizing the grammar.
Yay or nay, I've said my piece.
